Am I alive? Or am I dead? This question always comes to mind when I look over head the world of the living. Why such a question? Because I am a phantom. I am a lifeless thing, that dark shadow you shall see but not know. I guess I should explain further though, to how some one can be dead and yet question if they are alive. You see I died, I don't remember how but I did. For years I wandered the Earth aimlessly with no purpose or memory. One day I floated to a young pretty girl sitting by a tree. Her body interested me for it held no soul. I came close to that cold body. It was a pretty body, long black hair, tall, nice curves, and a pretty face. I looked around wondering if perhaps it's owner had only momentarily slipped away. There was no owner though. I touched the soft body and looked for any cause for her death. No wounds of any sort so I took an even closer look. I slowly slipped into the chilled body and in a great shock me and the body became one. The bodies heart began to beat and I gasped and gaped for breath as a looked around through my new eyes. Strange to how a perfectly good body was put to waste. My neck hurt though. Felt as if some one had strangled the body before. Perhaps  this poor soul was choked to death, it would make sense. It must have been quite recent though if I was able to enter and use this body.

I got up. It felt strange. I was no longer weightless or invisible, I could feel warmth and the summer breeze blow over. I took a step forward and nearly fell over. Blood was still trying to circulate in me. Does this mean I am alive again? Am I really among the living now? What do I do now? Where do I go? So many questions I have but cannot answer.  I fell over in the panic of questions. I guess the first thing would be to find a home, or maybe I already have a home. If some one really did kill the previous owner though, then maybe it's not such a good idea to stick around here. I don't want to be killed as well, dying twice is not a fun thought. Plus I have no clue who might of killed the owner of this body, for all I know it could have been her own mother. This world can be very twisted after all. I checked my pockets for money or an ID. I found a brown wallet with an ID and 15$. The ID had the girls name, her name was Haley Shroe. I guess I could go by that name, I don't remember my real name any way. I got up again and took my next steps into the great world. I here by now am Haley Shroe, and am now off to start my new life.

I was quite nervous as I walked around in my new body. What if some one saw me and recognized me. What would I do or what would I say? Or a scarier thought was what if my murderer came out looking for me. The more I thought  about things the more I realized starting a new life was going to be a very difficult task that would require both wits and courage. I would first need to get a job. Looking at my ID though, I would not be able to get a very good job. The girl was only a teen. 16 to be exact.  So I guess my best option was to get a part time job and go to school. I guess I could hang in a abandoned house or something for a bit until I can afford an actual apartment. How would I get enrolled in school then? Don't I need papers signed to do that? Maybe going to school isn't as practical as I think. They may put me on the news for missing person, and it would be easy to pick me out. My head hurts. So much thinking and work. Being dead was so much easier. I had nothing to worry about because nothing could harm me and I had no worldly problems. I haven't even officially gotten my life started and i'm already having a hard time on how this is all going to actually work. I feel though that there is something I must do, that there was a reason why I had come across that body. Perhaps fate if giving me another chance at life, but for what cause or reason?
